During the carotid endarterectomy, arteries are cut open and the arherosclerotic plaque is removed. During the femoropopliteal bypass, two ends of the vessel are attached to each other. In this workshop, different types of endarterectiomies and vascular anastomoses are discussed and various surgical techniques are explained. A large part of the program consists of a hands-on workshop, in which actual carotid endarterectomy and vascular anastomoses can be made by the participants. After this workshop, You will understand the idea of vascular anastomosis, suturing techniques and pitfalls.

Surgical instruments and sutures for all participants of the workshops are provided.
